A publisher wants to use one of my photographs for the cover of a university math book. I have no idea where to start for pricing this. Can any of you give me some direction? Thanks in advance!!

A traditional stock price for something like that would probably be in the hundreds of dollars.
Someplace in the forums is a link to a online stock calculator, but I don't remember its name.
You can also go to one of the major stock sites (Alamy, Getty, Corbis) and price out an image for a similarly spec'd project as if you were a customer.
You can ask them flat out what they usually pay, and hope they're honest. ;-)
Make sure you get a photo credit and a copy or two of the finished book. |

Alan Freed shared this link with me a couple of years ago. I found it quite helpful for pricing a magazine photo.
