I'll be lucky for this to end up above my average vote received by the end of the voting period. Shouldnt have entered it but I went to such lengths to get it and I didnt want that to be wasted. |

Nice score, but was hoping to make up for my freestudy and rock song, so was hoping for a 6. I guess my mom and daughter were right after all.

Don't you wish people would comment on why they vote so low... DNMC? Don't like the concept? Or the Photo itself?

Dropped overnight as expected, but still doing better than anticipated. I think I captured the look I was after, but did not really expect everyone to appreciate it as intentional.

BTW, Wendy, 5.88 is doing fairly well in my book. It takes a good entry just to stay over a 5.5 on this site. |

Agree, but that is the usual problem here. The closer to a 5 your entry is, the less comments it usually receives. Best way to counter it is to be part of the solution, and leave some feedback on the 4's and 5's that you hand out. |

Now I wish I hadn't gotten any comments. I guess I can't share what they said but it has nothing to do with the quality of the photo or DNMC. Guess people can have their opinion. I kind of expected it anyways with my photo.

Not everyone votes strictly on the quality of the photo. We have a few members who will give out mostly 3's as a default vote unless an image really moves them or impacts them somehow. Even the most outstanding landscape will get that 3. Appealing to one of those folks can be as much of a rush as winning a challenge. |

Oh, I know! It's definitely a nice score. When I was saying my mom and daughter were right, they were just claiming that it was a nice shot, but nothing that really held your interest for long. My overall average is 5.75 and I'm not getting much variation. I think I'd rather fluctuate a little more wildly with some higher 6s and lower 5s than be around average all the time. It's really not a complaint--I'm just trying to figure out how to start taking spectacular photos instead of nice ones :) I actually find it all very fascinating. |

I agree completely! I'm really looking forward to voting--I viewed them at midnight, and I think I'll be giving out a much higher average than normal. |

I'm not doing very well with this one but I think it was a great entry that made me think more about the actual concept
of what makes a good postcard rather than just thinking about the image.
