The site looks good, it crashed on me while I was checking it out, I was using Flock browser. I personally don't like flash sites, mainly cause flash can be too distracting.

caused Safari to crash too when I tried to check it out.

You're relying waaaaay too heavily on Flash. Simplify! Your photos will get lost in the fancy movie clips and interminable wait times. However, if you insist on using Flash, go get yourself some pixel fonts designed for it.

just updated it a bit, so it should automaticly adjust to any resolution.

looks nice from what I can see but takes sooooo long to load (and doesnt always load), that if I was a potential customer, I wouldnt wait. The picture slideshow on the homepage went SO fast too. I wanted a minute to look at the pictures, but could hardly keep up with it. Nice start, but needs to be faster and more reliable in loading, and give the viewer a little longer to look at your slideshow/

im getting 50/50 on the load speeds, loads straight away for some and not at all for others :/
04/01/2009 04:44:20 PM · #14
Only takes about 5 seconds to load for me. Looks nice :)

Site that rely totally on flash will always have these sorts of problems. From a web developer POV, use of flash is only recommended as an enhancement to a site. Think of flash as a herb or spice. Now, would you make a meal solely of oregano, or salt? No... but these can be used to enhance ones dining experience... flash should be used similarly. IMO.

ETA: Other than the over use of flash... I like the look of the site... and it didn't take too long, but longer than a non-flash site would have.

It loaded a little slow for me but not too bad. One thing I can't stand is the type flash code where the mouse controls the scroll speed. If your mouse isn't in just the right spot, the image moves around and zips by what I want to see. I would rather just have a next button where I can concentrate on looking at the photos, and not where my mouse is. However I see this thing on many sites so I must be in the minority. Colors and layout are nice and professional.

I agree with that. I kept growling at it because it was so touchy about holding still.

LOL, I suddenly got that distinct feeling of picking out the wrong outfit to wear and being sent back into the house to change clothes.

This guys site seems to be one of the best I have seen. Not to mention he may have had a little success.

Any thoughts? I am going to try to launch a site this year and I would hate to have to go back up stairs and pick out another outfit ;-(

Good looking site... very impressive portfolio and testimonials... however, from a usability POV it's not that great. If I saw a photo there that I really liked and wanted to show someone... can I send them a link to the photo in question. No... and every time I visit, I have to endure that splash screen, and THAT music... even if I turned it off last time.

It's a really nice site, IMHO. :)

If you click on a picture it will enlarge and stop? that should work on the slide show too.

Using IE.

Got a "PAGE LOAD ERROR - EXCEPTION - ERROR #2032" when opening the page.

Yes it does, but you have to catch it first!!
For a gallery like that, I like to look at them all first (at medium size and at MY idea of the best speed), then I might go back to study the bigger version of some of them.

As it is, they keep flipping around and I have to get the cursor in exactly the right spot to make it hold still and "pop out" a little. It is irritating, sorry.

It would be much nicer if there were arrows to move along, and better still if I can navigate via my keyboard arrows, too (my preferred method). An automatic slide show is nice, too, but only if I can decide the speed of it, or at least easily override the settings by pausing or moving on faster.

But I am very glad you don't force me to listen to YOUR music - a sure way of getting rid of me very, very quickly (not a good thing when you're trying to attract and keep customers).

No crash here (Safari Version 3.2.1 (5525.27.1)), but "4 (operation could not be found) errors opening the page".
