I'd like to say a hearty congratulations to the young chap. Spiffing show, what?

If you go to his blog he has 16 min video of his trip. It looks like he is using some medium format Phase one somethingorother these days.
If you go to //www.joeyl.com and go to personal->Absynnia you can see the images most likely to be in the magazine.
great stuff.
ETA:Some images and parts of the video are not safe for work.

âOpportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.â
Thomas Edison

Milton Berle
"Opportunity dances with those who are ready on the dance floor."
H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Charles Richter
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
Theodore Roosevelt
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity. They seem more afraid of life than death."

Who sees some Manny influence in his work? And I'm not just talking about the veils. |

I see, in both of them, the desire and ability to respect, and connect with, their subjects as individuals. |

While he may be a great up and coming photographer, he's got a lot to learn about being a cognitive speaker!
I've watched it 3 times, and I still don't really know what he was on about. |

Lol, yeah, I've noticed that, even at the Calgary workshop. I think what he was saying, in part,is that while it's great doing all these big names, his real interest is in subjects such as his street folk and king of the Gypsies and Ethopians.
Also, that he's sometimes rather taken aback at how fast it's all happened; one day looking thru' the viewfinder at a local garage band then almost the next day it's 50 cent.
Maybe I'm way off base, but that's what I got, anyway :) |
