Please forgive my ignorance, I am very new to photography but love all of your work. I think it is fantastic. I would like to tap into your expertise. I have a Sony Cyber-shot® W170 Digital Camera. No matter what setting i put it on, it takes blurry pics. I tried to adjust the shutter speed and the f stop but there is no place on this camera to do that. Should I get rid of this camera and get a new one. If so what should I look for in a camera that will make it take pics quick?
Again sorry for the ignorance here.
Thanks

This might help others not familiar with the camera. It appears not to have any manual settings. Maybe the face recognition is causing the blurriness. |

I had to look up some info on this camera. It does not appear to have full manual or even Aperture priority modes. You do, however have a program auto mode. That will give you the most control, but the camera will still choose your shutter speed and aperture. |

It also has "The DSC-W170's 28 to 140mm equivalent lens is wider than most and incorporates Sony's Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to minimize blur caused by camera shake at slow shutter speeds."
If that's gone haywire, and it may very well have, it will result in everything being blurry most, if not all, of the time. We need to see pics.

Dr.Confuser has that camera, as backup. (Checked the cameras in equipment, and he has the sole challenge pic taken with it). The op might check out dpreview.com for information - user reviews. Possibly he got a lemon? |
