Once again I start the official DPC American Idol Thread..
Any thoughts after the first 2 episodes?
A few stand out for me so far--
Girl who sang Barracuda lastnite.
Guy who's wife died (looks like Robert Downy Jr)
Jason's Brother
The band Teacher that sang MJ
The dude in shorts in flip-flops that actaully sang good though he looked like is was gonna William Hung it..

That girl that wrapped up the show tonight was pretty good. Castros brother sounded good too.
ETA: I agree with you Buzz, tattoo girl was pretty good, So was that girl that sang Cry Baby by Janis she had some serious soul.
The guy who's wife passed away is from Milwaukee. They just did a big story on the local fox news, his brother actually works at the TV studio so they had some inside scoop.
they had quite a few good singers over the past two nights, however Ive seen good singers show face on the first audition and bomb bad once they get to Hollywood. I tend to hold back any serious thoughts until after that point. However on that note I will say a couple of the people I mentioned from tonight will breeze through to the final 24. a couple from lastnight will also.
eta futher more, tattoo girl name was used for that irish girl last year so this one should be called tattootwo.

Oh yeah, and she wasnt even forgettable. lol She actually could sing a little but her attitude is going to kill her chances of surving and I doubt fox is going to let her wear the bikini every week.

| Ok, did anyone else see the disgusting girl towards the end of the show? I put a piece of candy in mouth and almost threw up on it. She had some jacked up teeth and they were YELLOW!!!!! Oh yea, she couldn't sing either! |

I think they may have already picked the winner and they still have many auditions to show us.
Joanna Pacitti is going to be the one to beat. I expect there will be alot of hoopla and flame throwing about her even being there in the first place. However the rules must permit it so the other contestants will have to work harder to beat her. It should be a good season to watch once they finish showing us 30 minutes of headache causing singers every week and get down to the final 12. |

Me being deaf and all I don't watch much Idol, but what I do watch is the tryouts, 'cuiz they get some damned fascinating people in those. So I'm aware of Joanna, and it basically makes me want to puke. What good is "Idol" if people hwo already HAD a shot, and blew it, can come on and try to retread the carcass of their careers? Save it for the true unknowns, sheesh.

| There was a girl last year, who was in the top 10, who had a record deal, then it went to hell. I think she sang better than the girl from last night. I think if I were in that competition it would put me more at ease. Think of it this way, she had a deal and look where she is now! |

I have listened to Joannas CD and I think it is actually pretty good. I am still going to root for the locals that have made it to Hollywood, But Joanna has been there and done that experience will be her edge even if there are better singers/voices in the competition. Joanna has toured with Sheryl Crow so she has some large crowd experience to go with her experience in the studio enviroment.
As for Carly last year. Didn't she get cut from her record deal before she even got to make a record? Does anyone know if she got signed after the Idol Tour? |

Ha -- same happened to me! Nasty when Survivor and AI are on at the same time. I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find out who else made it through... shoulda just started here, I guess!

This is the first season I've watched AI. It's pretty entertaining. I didn't get to see much of the Hollywood stuff, but have watched the groups this week. Thank goodness Tatiana didn't make it. She is so annoying.
I think Danny is probably the only guy in the running for the win. Out of the girls, I like Lil and Allison. |
