All images taken in 2008, being fair game might make for some high end submissions.

My best work is never captured within the set time frames of any Challenge. It happens how it happens.

ok, it's a deal. You can use any image or composite of images captured in 2008.

Cool!

Time constraints and art don't mix.

I wonder what Picasso's "Guernica" would have looked like if he was given a week to bang it out?

Keep yourself safe - I've been wondering about you given the news and your tendency to shoot street stuff... be careful!

Are we talking about photos we haven't uploaded yet or is it anything from this year including photos you've already commented on, awarded, etc?

I have no say, but I'd like to see stuff we haven't seen before. I suppose if you want to do something drastically different with stuff we haven't seen.... But like I said, not my call.

Soooooooo does that mean we can submit a digital art?

Sorry but there has to be one in every crowd doesn't there.

what I entered for this (first) Posthumous Masters could be considered digital art and nobody complained, so I think it's ok

The final result should be something I haven't seen before. I hate seeing the same thing twice! :P

Digital art is fine by me, but you'll pretty much be flying blind, as far as my taste goes.

And btw, you can also take the picture in January 09, if you're so inclined. But you'll be competing in a Best of '08 Posthumous Open Challenge, so it better be good!

Oh! I just saw this thread...congrats to all the winners!!! Can't wait for the 2008 Open challenge!

Posthumous...a special thank you to you for giving us an opportunity and the freedom to fill in the blank photo...in our own unique and individual ways.

P.S. May I have my brown ribbon back now?!...;-P

I'm open to ideas, re: ribbons. I hated picking ribbons without anonymity. I don't believe in objectivity, so I like to be careful about such things. Maybe someone can volunteer to collect photos and put them in their own portfolio?

that's a good idea - I have quite a lot of space in my portfolio, you can use mine if you want - but what do we do about comments? How do we switch the photos back to the original owners and yet keep the photo posting as is, complete with comments?

I will host them.
Should we create a note saying the original will be deleted and moved to the originator's portfolio so not to fav the version in the challenge? Then we could create a thread where everyone uploads there own entries after the challenge so people can get their comments and favs on their image. I could just quote them and paste them later in the new image.

My email is posted on my profile, so entrants can email me their entries as an attachment with the title. Photographer's comments can be added when they upload their image to their portfolio after the challenge.

This can all be tweaked as desired too.
