Hello, it's been a while since I've been here, but everyone on dpc is always full of help, so I thought I'd ask around here. My question: what site do you recommend to buy domain/host through? I am a freshman at Savannah College of Art and Design, and I'm wanting to make a professional site now that my commissions are picking up. What site do you use - or can you show me examples of other photo sites that you like?
I'm really not a fan of smugmug; bludomain is a lot of unnecessary flash.
Any suggestions would be great and appreciated.

bludomain is my recommendation... I use them and am happy with my site although it needs an update (luckily that is easy to do!)

GoDaddy is fabulous, pretty good prices, really easy to use, definitely recommend them.

Yup, GoDaddy plus Wordpress is a great solution with eminent flexibility and excellent value for the cost. (Wordpress is free.)

I have used GoDaddy in the past and I can't say anything bad about them. Their customer support was also good when I used them.

I got my Domain Name through Godaddy and my site is hosted at Lunarpages....very economical and with all the bells and whistles that you will need now and later. Which saves time trying to transfer down the track.

The sneaky little jiggery-pokery at the end of the link.... :-) Well, lunarpages do claim to have paid out something like $3m in commission, so it's all fair game. |

And anyone with Lunarpages can join the affiliate program. So when people join up..you get paid $65-00 for every new account. So why not. It pays for my site hosting. People can click on it as much as they like...it doesn't cost them anything.
