I have one of these beasts and the battery refuses to charge. When I place it on the charger the light comes on for about two minutes and then stops. No matter how long I leave it on it never gains any charge.
These new batteries have a chip inside which somehow communicates with the camera and the charger. It appears to be speaking a different language.
Anyone heard anything similar?
Google doesn't show anything on the subject. |

Yes on the charger is a little button which is supposed to recalibrate. But not in this case. |

Throw the battery in your freezer for a few hours. Used to work with laptop batteries that stopped taking a charge because they inexplicably considered themselves topped off at all times. |

Well, the freezer trick didn't work either, still not holding or even accepting a charge.
My problem is I bought the camera in the US and am now in the UK, so I don't have a way of taking tha battery back. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new one. |
