Some of you may be aware that Australians finally had a chance at a Canon Competition. Many DPC'ers entered and the finalists announced. I am lucky enough to have 2 finalist entries. It is now up to the voters to decide the winner. Each category has a prize value of $5000 of Canon equipment. Voting is open to anyone alhtough you do need to register with an email address to be able to see the finalists and vote. Voting is simply voting for one entry per category in both the Amateur and Professional levels. Their are 5 categories and 5 finalist per category. So you have 10 votes available.
Please vote for the one you prefer but thankyou to anyone who chooses to vote for my image and help my images along.
Here is the vote login page. Canon Voting Page.
Here are my 2 finalist entries.
Professional - Bubble Category
Professional - Umbrella Category
I have had a look through all the other finalist and cannot place any of the names to other DPC'ers. So if I have missed any, please add them to this thread.

With complete honesty, Judi your images are fantastic, but I'm really shaking my head at some of the ones picked as finalists. Particularly in the professional category - I saw some of the other DPCers images, and they walk all over some of the other finalists in my opinion. An why you didn't make the finals in the tealight category Judi, I'll never know!

Judi
I looked through all the finalist images and without even realising I could see who had taken the images, I had picked both your finalist images as yours! Good luck with the voting |

I totaly agree. Some of them are great and others are well, not great:P But in saying that, good on the photographers for getting picked as finalists, they obviously have something the judges like and that's what counts.
Well done Judi, your shots are brill. |

I have VOTED for you Judi, and hope you are successful in both of them. I am also surprised that your 'tea light' one was not in the finals as it is a WINNER in my eyes..... |

While I'd love to support a fellow DPC'er, I have a personal policy against popular voting. (well, non-anonymous popular voting anyway).
Good luck though. |

I have to say that I am quite disappointed at many of the pics that were chosen for finalists. There were so many fabulous images in the galleries and this is not reflected in the final line up IMO - I'm sure others would agree.
Congratulations Judi on getting 2 in. I have voted for both of yours as they were the best for each category.
Keep us informed and let us know if you win.
Hope a lot more votes come your way.

Thanks Ramblin and Sherpet.
There seems to be quite some controversy over the judges choices. Whilst I agree that some of them are particularly bland...I am also a little hurt when I read in the Canon forums that in the Professional Bubble and Umbrella finalist categories that there isn't anything worthy of voting for. That is a little disheartening to say the least.

They are just jealous, Judi. Your images are fantastic, particularly the bubble one. Anyone who suggests otherwise has another agenda.

I tried to vote for you Judi, but couldn't get past the registration page since I don't have an Australian address. Is it just me, or do you need to live in Australia to vote? |

I know of a few non-Aussies who have managed to vote...I am not sure how though.
