Blues. Heard of Tab Benoit? Great Louisiana guitar blues. Or Joe Bonamassa, a little rockier.

Also if you like jazz give Freddie Hubbard and Coltrane though i suppose you may have one or both of those artists they're great. Especially Freddie's earlier jazz!

Have you tried Pandora? It's a great way of finding new music that fits your tastes.

These guys are a bit different, but something about their sound is cool...kind of southern rock...I've not heard lots of their stuff, but some is darn good.

Jazz Blues you might like Mike Stern. He played with Miles and Blood Sweat and Tears to name a few. He's a good writer, nice balads and grooves that rip.

His myspace page with 6 current tunes.

Here's a nice balad by Stern

Are you familiar with Derek Trucks? He plays with The Allman Brothers but his solo and guest work really shines far above. He's been playing with everybody and can construct a solo as well as anybody I can think of.

Long live, Jaco! (Well, his music, anyway.)

I love those Joni Mitchell albums that feature him. Don Juan's Reckless Daughter is a classic.

Jimi Hendrix - voodoo child. It's a great intro to Hendrix if you've never been into him before.

Still outlawed in Canada. grrr This was my greatest tool for finding new bands.

Kari, you listen to BoC, cool. I am so relaxed after listening to their stuff. I love listening to it alone in the dark lying on my sofa, it puts me in a hypnotic state. I'm due for a session. ;]

I love Boards of Canada. They're amazing, so hypnotic, and yet, so...just great stuff.

I think you need more jazz. What styles are you into? Swing? Bop? Hard-bop? Fusion? Avant-garde? Piano trio? Big band? Vocalists?

Stuff with no vocals is what I prefer in Jazz. I like Jazz Fusion, and stuff centered on guitar (I have been known to play a little) and trumpet. One of my favorite albums right now is by Christian Scott.

How about some classic jazz/fusion such as Yellowjackets or Robbin Ford...
More rocking mood? Disturbed is excellent imo.
