That is very cool, I wonder how many individual pictures make that up?

It depends of which lens you are using. While I was studying in the US, one colleague use to do such 360 views. With the Canon 10-22, I think it was using six up pictures (to capture the whole sky) and six down (to capture the whole ground), so 12 frames (hopefully i am right). He eventually bought the Sigma 8mm f/4.0 EX Circular Fish-Eye, i think he was able to cover the whole sphere with 8 frames.
