I just ordered my Olympus E-1 bundle kit for $1,995.00 with no sales tax from B&H photo. I also ordered my 1GB lexar professional compact flash card from e-tronics for $40.00 off the regular price plus the $40.00 mail in rebate total cost of only $200.00, I'll also be purchasing the olympus battery grip, FL-50 flash, stofen omni bounce and an additional 1GB card.
I love my sony DSC-F717, but I've been really busy handling weddings and other special event portraitures that i needed to upgrade to DSLR with fast buffer, true wide angle lenses and options for RAW.

I almost forgot, the $300 discount applies at all retail stores. I chose B&H Photo because the don't require a trade in and because I'd be saving a couple of hundred from sales tax |

Does anyone know if Olympus or any of the other cam companies that have come onboard the 4/3rds system are producing other lenses for the system?
Edit add: Are any other companies producing 4/3rds camera backs?

I think Fuji is supposed to be part of the 4/3rds movement.

I would really like to see more competition and alternatives of products to Canon & Nikon in the DSLR market.
I will be in the market for a DSLR in about a year, and since I don't own any glass yet, I can go with any of the companies. I'm just going to wait it out and see what happens and where the technology goes in the coming year.

Dont forget the Pentax DSLR and Fuji's S2pro and the new Fuji S3 pro(although the Fuji uses a Nikon body). Not heard much about the Pentax so cant comment, but the fuji S series are excellent cameras and an alternative if you already own Nikon lenses.

I was talking to a photographer yesterday who was shooting with the Pentax D-ist and he said he loved it. He purchased it because he had lots of lenses from his days shooting Pentax film cams.
I have been thinking of purchasing my glass first, second hand, from say Ebay and then matching a compatible body from the appropriate manufacturer. Has anyone taken this route?
