When the clock ended on the Orange submission there were 394 (I think) entries. But now it's down to 389. I'm new so I'm just trying to understand what's happening. Is that from DQ's? |

Almost certainly. I don't know of any other reason it would go down. |

Yes, there have been a handful of DQs so far. Most have violated the "Literal photographic representations of existing works of art" rule this time around. |

Here is the complete paragraph:
Artwork. Literal photographic representations of the entirety of existing works of art (including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, and computer artwork.

i got a DQ for that once. BUt what do you define as art? everything is someones art. I recently had this discussion in the DPC chat, with john setzler, and gordon i think.

what percentage of the photo has to be original. huh even i dont
understand the question.
lets say i took a photo of a carrot by holding it up against an
original landscape. would this be ok? |
