Interested in IR on the G5? I'd heard it wasn't the best camera to shoot IR with and my tests confirm. A pity, but IR is still really cool and if you get the colors and light right, it can sometimes be WOW! I would love to test my lens on my dad's S50.

Would love to know what you think of these IR images. Starting to collect on a similar theme.

Have a great weekend Everyone!

The tree/ bench combo is a great example of why I live IR. Ghostly, magical and I'd be dull as ditchwater in non-IR. |

Those are cool shots.
I played around with IR and my G5. This was about a 10sec exposure in bright sun using the R72 filter

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Gordon I know, exactly! so true. Glad you enjoyed it.
Spazmo99 Great shot! I'd seen this before and u know, I was thinking... that is one of the downsides of IR on the G5, long exposure times mean blurred clouds. Not saying they arent awesome most of the time, but it would be nice to have the flexibility to capture sharp shots at F8. Yeah?
:) Thanks for sharing. |

To get infrared pics all you have do is get this filter?
Or is there more to it then that? |

IR filters work on DSLR?
or izzit ccd on only certain digicams that are more sensitive to IRs? |

I found this article about IR and digital cameras that may help answer some questions, and most likely generate more.

Thanks for the link!
Kinda sounds like you have to have a CCD image sensor for the
filter to work.
