I recently had a run in with the beagle virus. It really messed up my computer, but I got it fixed. However, I wonder, could this virus get on you microdrive if it was connected to your card reader? I didn't think about it at the time, but my microdrive was in the reader when this all happened. Now my camera is doing funny things, like taking a long time to come on, or it may turn on, but do nothing. I did get one error message related to the card. I have never had any problems before with this camera. I tried to scan the card with my anti-virus software, but it doesn't recognize the boot drive, so it won't scan it. The microdrive is also now making little clicking noises. Any thoughts or suggestions?

A virus would not cause your microdrive to make any abnormal sounds. You may be experiencing a hardware failure with the drive.

i agree with John, sounds like a possible hardware issue. Put the drive in a card reader and run diagnostics on it. Try reformatting it completely. If formatting it fails, you can be reasonably sure there ia a problem with the drive.
