I use it on mine...
pix-al.co.uk
Dowloaded a little program called "Porta" which is a nice easy front end that creates the simple viewer gallery. |

If you have Lightroom you can download the Simpleview plugin (or maybe it came as standard, I cant remember) and create flash slideshows directly in LR.. Just create a collection of the shots you want, select them all, click on the `Web` module and it does all the hard work for you, it will even upload it to your webserver if you so desire.. |

I don't have light room and I tried the PS plugin it didn't work I keep getting error messages about output folder. I trying to figure how to get text and links put on the page with simple viewer, My html skills are very weak so I was checking the page source, but I still can't get a clue. |

Kevin,
I use Simpleviewer and Postcardviewer on mine. I use Picasa2 to create the galleries, but I've done HTML/PHP work to manipulate the layout. Check the source on mine and ask your questions here and I'll answer for everyone's benefit.
The new slideviewer is cool, but doesn't have as many options as the other two yet. |

One shortcoming is for those still on dial-up. Simple viewer is painfully slow loading the site.

Does that allow you set the size of the photo when you zoom in? |

I assume you refer to pastcardviewer since simpleviewer has no zoom.
That is changed in the imagedata.xml file for Postcardviewer:
< GALLERY_DATA cellDimension="720" columns="8" zoomOutPerc="11" zoomInPerc="66" frameWidth="10" >
The two settings that I change based on the number of images in the set are colums and zoomOutPerc. I try to keep columns rectangular and bump zoomOutPerc up or or 1% each time, test and repeat. zoomInPerc I never touch, but that is the one that you are asking about.
In simpleviewer's gallery.xml:
< simpleviewerGallery maxImageHeight="1024" maxImageWidth="1024" textColor="0xFFFFFF" frameColor="0xffffff" frameWidth="10" stagePadding="20" thumbnailColumns="4" thumbnailRows="5" navPosition="left" title="" enableRightClickOpen="false" backgroundImagePath="" thumbPath="thumbnails/" imagePath="" >

I'm using simple viewer but I'm not so sure I like it. I was wondering if anyone knew what the name of the viewer is that pops up a little (I assume)flash window that shows the picture. |

OK guys thanks a lot. What I really want is just like the link that is above from pix-al (BTW Thanks pix-al)
//www.pix-al.co.uk/
Except I want simple viewer to be on the first page. I checked the source page and I don't see any thing that would clue me in on how to do it. Like I said I have done some web sites but with WYSIWYG programs very little coding, Of course I want my name and my links. But thats the basic idea. Simple viewer to be the first page with Kevin Russo Photography in the upper left corner and then a few links for Bio, Contact,Personal Projects, Pricing.
I am also using simple viewere in conjunction with porta. I have heard some bad things about picassa and Im not sure about it. I have tried it, but as a image viewer I prefer Breeze Browser.

I think you mean LyteBox
I use MonoSlideShow as I found it a little more flexible then simple viewer. |

I don't really have a site, just show my pictures to my friends (and now you), but I find Simpleviewer to be a very useful tool. I also use Porta to build the albums, because it's easy, and with an XML editor, has some customization.

I stopped using BreezeBrowser quite a while ago. It's just too Canon-centric and didn't work for me as well as I'd liked.
As for simpleviewer on your first page and your looking at the source for pix-al the problem is that pix-al uses frames (which is nowadays looked at as bad form). This means that you can't see where the page is really coming from. Having simpleviewer as your main page with links is no different than what I do with postcardviewer on my main page. Just sub the "< div id="flashcontent"> with the one from simpleviewer. It may require some jimmying and you'll need to put your link and headers where you like. |

That's pretty cool. I might have to switch. I like the way it works. |
