Heh all... just wanted to say a quick "hello" to everyone.

I've been wanting to get involved in photography since my parents bought their old Minolta Maxxum 5000i many, many moons ago... but unfortunately due to other commitments and such haven't been able to until now (wow... 20 some odd years goes by quick doesn't it?).

My intrest in Photography stems from work (I'm a Paramedic in a small city here in Northwestern Ontario) where we have little to go with when doing public relations / public education and training among other things. I've always thought it would be fun to delve in and help out in this area. So... given that... here I am.

Yet since purchasing my Digital Rebel XTi and lenses this winter... I've found there is soo much more to see, so much more that we miss in our daily lives and things now seem different when walking around town or even playing outside with the dog. What a different world through the lens of a camera... wow... :)

Anyhow... I've been to the site many a time browsing through the pics and such... and only recently upon some nudging by alphonzo joined up. I'll still be on the sidelines for some time as I learn the differnt settings and aspects of the camera... but definately plan on throwing a few pics in here and there for some C & C.

Wahoo... luvin' photography already... and soo soo much to learn :).

Hi Dennis, welcome to DPC. In your job you see many things involved with work, but once you have a camera, you spot just how much of life you take for granted.

Welcome to the site. Make sure you read all the rules and regulations as they are VERY important to you and everyone else.

A warm welcome to the insanity that often is DPC. It's a great place to learn about photography, but also a great community, in the truest sense of that word.
Photography is truly an opportunity to learn to see the world differently, and will provide you with a lifetime of learning opportunities, and the rewards of having learned.
