Hey! My family and I live in Brentwood, TN, which is about 70 miles away from the natural gas explosion that occurred as a result of the devastating storms from last night. I was able to capture the explosion right when it happened and thought I would share it with you guys. A little different than the normal portraits I post, but hey!!! LOL! Let me know what you think. I submitted the photo to all the local and major news organizations, because there has yet to be someone send in a photo of the actual explosion with the green glow that occurred. All the photos out there right now are of the aftermath with the fire. Let me know what you think!! I'm also attaching a photo of the lightning with the "wall cloud" that was looming over downtown Nashville. Thanks guys!

Cool photos of a terrible event. Your hometown is 70 miles from there, but that's not taken from 70 miles away, is it?

Yep, it sure is! I took this from my balcony at home.

wow that is cool I live in Ms and I was out trying to catch some storm shots last night. I did not get anything worth while. I could hear the roar of the tornado but could not see it. It destroyed a friends barn about 4 miles from me.

Congrats, Crystal!

I'm curious, did you have to sign anything, or did they? Or was the arrangement just done on trust? I'm curious as to how one gets a news organization to use a timely photo, yet protect the photographers rights to the photo.

I submitted the photo through their website and there was a license agreement that I had to click as acceptance of letting them use my photo, or they won't let you upload the photo.
