I chased storms lastnite, as I am one to do, and this stood out. Maybe my mind twisted it a little, but it was the first thing I noticed in the shot.
Very wierd. Does anybody else think so, or do you have your own wierd shot to post? I left the original BG, and only changed curves in the edit point, so everybody knows I aint pulling no tricks.

Thank god, I'm at least not alone in thinking its creepy. It was also looking over the most violent part of the storm, which adds a bit of story to it.
BTW it was over the Missouri River when the storms came through STL lastnite. |

If you look hard enough you can find a face in every photo. |

Right, I understand that...it was just this one really smacked me in the face instead of looking for it.
Look at it again minus the edit, there really wasn't much to see anyway, but to just look at it, its the first thing you notice. |

That face is pretty obvious. I found another one, too. It's a little more subtle, but if you look closely, you can find it.

Could it be a portrait of a sacred spirit?
Nah, it's just a mystery. |

It's real - I had to go back and look at the original after Richard pointed it out. But like they said - it's natural for the human brain to detect faces even in randomness. Just look at clouds in the sky. =) |

:)
Upper-right
When I opened this one up on my computer it made me smile and I don't usually look for things like this. I know it's just shadows, but it's interesting what a moment in time will capture.
I agree it's natural for us to detect faces in everything, but if you don't take it too seriously, it can be fun! :) |

Oh, I agree - it was very clear in your shot. Wasn't poking fun at you, just playing around. :)

Just a thought...maybe the faces are actual. Spirit can be a complicated subject, but if you take the comment above

...and inject simplicity, maybe the faces are watching us all the time. Muhahaha! |

Spend enough time staring up at the clouds and you will see a hundred different faces, along with a lot of dragons I find, a little imagination and an eye for detail is all it takes! ;-P |

To have you all sleep better tonight...
Faces are for three dimensional world. We have all that up there for a reason "to survive" in this world, such as mouth to eat (because we have stomach and other parts needs to survive) ears to hear (only in air, without air you can't hear, and it is on earth... well for now) nose to smell (again needs air for that). Ghosts don't need anything like these, because they are not three dimensional (assuming they are exist). Pain... We have pain only for one reason "reflexes". Body tells you where is the problem, in "pain" language. Physiological pain is different, that is also related to consciousness.
So, Ghosts are (even they are there) can't do anything to us, besides we getting scared for nothing. After all, if they kill us we become ghosts as well... and if one of them kills me, I probably smack it's ass "there". I ain't running after I die, I chase :P
Sleep well. Creepy stuff only in your mind, if even not, if they are real, who cares... no one died because of a ghost attack, people die because they get scared too much (maybe)

I agree, mostly Focus, that is certainly a way of looking at it.
I sort of was thinking the other way, like, maybe watching over us, keeping us safe, or perhaps a sign of faith. Creepy, may of been misleading. I wasn't thinking monsters, I was thinking, amazingly beautiful.

It also maybe worth adding, this storm was very violent looking for at least 1 hour, though I only shot for 15min, after this shot I got in the truck and rushed towards the storm. However the storm dissipated all in 5 min. It went from about 5 or 6 strikes p/30s, to nothing at all.
Im not trying to fabricate an elaborate anything, but "my word" is that I thought the storm to be very, very confusing way before I seen any photo at all. All I have to vouch for me is my 5yr old son, (Boston).
It was great having him out in the wind, and the lightning, and storm. I recommend it, just keep em safe. He was scared, of course, but he wanted to go, and I figured way more interesting than fishing, which is what my father did when I was his age. (Boooring) |

I love big storms (without tornados) too. Just remember that lightning can strike up to 10 miles from the visual edge of a storm. According to NOAA, that's about as far as you can hear thunder. So if you can hear the thunder, the lightning that caused it could hit you.
