Please critique me as i have just started and have found a great interest in photography and really want to get better.
I find it difficult to capture interesting images, and they all seem to be very plain and boring.
This is a recent image that I'm very happy with. It has not been altered in any way.
Please go here if you wish to write a comment for my Portfolio.
Thanks for your time

wrong computer so this will be short :-)
I like the idea, but you need more light in the shadows. Theres no detail there in your picture, over-expose by 2/3 to 1 stop and correct the sky in PS afterwards :-)
Try framing a similar shot to include the sun (Or moon) for more effect.
Wait another 30/60 minutes next time till the sky goes a dark but rich blue for more atmosphere and effect.
Watch a sunset without your camera and you will see what time to take a picture as you won't worry about missing it and your timing will improve future photographs :-) |

I like it the way it is, the deep shadow without detail is what I like about the best...also the whispy clouds. The fact that it's not done exactly the same as everyone else's is even more appealing. If you do decide to try it again, please post the photos!

Personally, I like the very deep shadows... I think it makes a lovely contrast. |

The deep shadows do make a very dramatic photo. If that pleases you, keep it. The big old tree is marvelous standing so starkly against the sky. |

Not sure what it is, but it seems rather busy to me. I like the tree alright, and the clouds alright, but I think that they are fighting for the same space and making for a very cluttered top portion of the frame. The placement of the tree also may be just a bit to far left. The current placement unbalances the frame I think. Overall a nice image. Thanks for sharing.
