None of the girls impressed me much this week except the First girl, The one who owns the tat shop.

I was suprised when the Biker Nurse didn't get cut. She had one of the worst performances of all the girls this week.

It is going to be interesting this year, Alot of good singers however alot of horrible song choices.

Next week will probably be even worse as they are most likely going to be doing the 80's Some of these Kids were still not born in the 80's

At least they don't have a Sanjia this year.

I only watch the tryouts for Idol, but...

My brother-in-law read a post in some Idol forum by a person who noticed two guys wre missing from the iTunes Idol downloads. They were eventually added back. But it turned out that they were in fact the two guys who got the hook. Haha, iTunes leaked some insider info!

Carly - yep, she can sing. Not crazy about the experience she has coming in however.
Brooke White stepped up with a nice performance I thought.
Kristy Lee Cook did a decent job (and she's easy on the eyes).

Surprised here too! Watching her stand there I got the impression she thought she was toast too.

If ever in San Diego and you like Irish Food, Hit The Field where Carly works at in the Gaslamp quarter they have some wicked Irish food...grab a boxtie whilst there. oh, yeah Carly can sing too.

VFTW kept Amanda and Danny (this years Sanjia) on... has to be. Amanda's Carry on Wayward Son has to worst redo of that song ever done. I've heard better when my buddy comes over and plays Rockband with me and he does the vocals to that one... and it ain't pretty.

Danny is Mediocre at best...

Yeah Biker Nurse should have sang something like an REO tune or something like that with a little more blues rooted sound to it. She has a nice voice but she is picking some bad songs. And who is doing the hair on idol this year? yikes.

I read (or heard) where the Idol contenders don't receive any wardrobe help until it gets down to 12. Is it the same for makeup/stylists too?

Yeah, I admit I've been watching and am right now... and won't make final post until I see the end :-)

I agree with you, this time boys rule. IMO David Cook could walk home with it now -- finally a real rock singer on this show, thank goodness! But the kid David Archuleta has one of the most perfect voices I've ever heard and as a teenager is pretty damn amazing. Michael Johns is pretty cool too, but up on the chopping block as I type.

They booted a great girl, Amanda Overmyer a bit ago; she was so Janis Joplin-esque an oldie like me had to love her! Currently the only rockin' girl is Carly Smithson, also on the chopping block tonight. She has an amazing voice (Ms. Wilson from Heart comes to mind).

I suspend for the cut...

...and goodbye to Michael. Hmm, not what I'd expect, I don't much agree, but he'll probably get a much better record deal anyway, as all of the other stellar castoffs seem to have gotten :-)

Okay tonight was Mariah Carey nite-- How the hell are the guys gonna sing this??

Well it was pretty damn good!!

Hands Down David Cook rocked it, close tie between David A and Jason..

The girls were decent, I thought overall this was the best nite so far, with that said-- Carly or Brooke must go--

On a positive side -- Kristy Lee Cook has benn getting better and better as it goes on, Keep her in it!

Yeah, agreed on David Cook being the best of the night... David A. just really bugs me and I'm sort of tired of hearing power ballads from him week after week... I really think Carly or Kristy should go, I admit that even though Brooke wasn't at her best tonight I still like her. I think it'll def. be an all girl bottom three. Syesha has a great voice but needs emotion and personality. Jason was amazing last week with over the rainbow and good today.

American Idol is great, but we should have a DP Idol! Here's how it works:

Week 1: Open challenge to everyone (advanced editing). The top 100 move on to week two. (We could even have an entry fee of 10.00 and all proceeds go to charity. i.e Idol gives back, etc...)

Week 2: Another open challenge (basic editing) The top 50 move on to week three.

Week 3: SC mandates challenge. Top 25 move on to week four.

Week 4: SC mandates challenge. Top 10 advance.

Weeks 5 through 14: SC mandates challenge. Each week one DP contestant is eliminated. (Maybe winner gets to pick the charity where the entry fees are donated?)

anyway I thought this might be fun and another excuse to keep coming to this site.

David A has probably the best voice of the guys left, but no originality. He's karaoke'ing it every week.

David Cook's wasn't the best vocally, but him and Jason are original every week. Those 2 are the only ones that I could actually sit and listen to an album of.

Carly doesn't have the lower range on her voice and lately she seems to sound like she's screaming more than singing the higher notes.

Syesha has a great voice, but she's performing average.

Kristin has a good voice too, but anything outside of country and she struggles. Kelly Pickler just won 3 country awards, so its probably where she'll end up.

Brooke fell to the pressure tonight and I think she'll be going home.

My prediction is David Cook/Jason Castro finale.

David Cook was unreal tonight! I've liked his work thus far, but haven't really heard him do anything where his voice was showcased like it was this evening. Wow!

Wow, Brooke messed up big time... and Jason was disappointing as well. Syesha finally found her personality though it might be a bit late at this stage. Carly was ok, shouted in parts but seemed happier than she has in weeks. David A. was his usual power-karaoke self, and I swear he forgot the words for a few lines. But they definitely saved the best for the last, David Cook was head and shoulders above the rest imo.

Who is going home? Brooke, Jason and Carly are the bottom three for me this week. And I would have to pick Brooke... she hasn't had a good performance in weeks.

I have to agree, I like Brooke but seriously, you can't mess up twice on live TV and live to tell about it, plus she's been pretty inferior in her singing lately anyway. I feel bad for Jason because this is SO not his element but on the other hand he shouldn't have picked such a big song. David A. is starting to bug me (moreso than usual) because here he is with this awesome big voic and he pick random ass songs, he should have done David C's song. David Cook really suprised me bacause I didn't know he could sound that clean, and he didn't really change the song at all for once. Carly's was okay, but by far I was AMAZED by Syesha, her singing was not her best but her performance was absolutley fantastic!

Best of the night = Syesha and David C...Worst = Brooke and Jason, but I hope Brooke goes home.

Syesha was amazing tonight. Far and away my favorite. Here's how things I think things will play out for the rest of the show.

Brooke is gone next week. She messed up bad at the beginning of her song today, that the second time she's done that. She also doesn't have the vocals of the other contestants except Jason Castro but I think he'll edge her out in the popularity contest.

After that Jason is gone.

Next week will be Syesha, then Carly.

The final face-off will be between the two Davids and I think David Cook will take it.
