HI,
The screen on my laptop is dead (sob!). Is it possible to get the VGA output to a TV. I have tried using S-video (laptop) to s-video (TV) but the resolution on the screen is terrible. Is it possible to link the VGA output from the laptop to the s-video or SCART input to get the best resolution?
Thanks

I'm absolutely sure about this but I think the problem is on the TV not the connection...if you don't have a High Definition TV you are limited in the NTSC/PAL standard which is 480 or 576 lines of resolution (pixels) across the screen.

The real problem CAN be the refresh rate of the laptop output. being (don't quote me) 72hz, where a television cycles at 60hz. (something like that) SOME computers have a video card capable of switching. If you can get a picture on your television that is usable, check your control panels or system preferances. |

There are all sorts of cable connections you can buy that will help you out. I've connected my computer to an old style console TV that only had a coaxle cable connection all the way up to a projector that I use on a regular basis. I actually went out and purchased all the conversion cables soon after purchasing my laptop and haven't had a problem at all. |
