Curious what other online photography communities that DPC members are also active on.

but that's it. Placed 2nd in the recent billboard challenge too :)

None. There are no *communities* that compare to DPC. :-)

And you are so very right on with this comment!! I find eyefetch to be difficult to navigate and the forums are enough to put a hyperactive child to sleep.

I had hoped to avoid the "none, DPC is the neatest there is" replies.
I agree it would be tough to find another site that has the comaraderie and goodnatured feel of this one.
But what I am looking for is something less "newbie" - not to sound pompous.
There is a reason some of our favorites migrate elsewhere (Heida etc. - read the thread on MIA faves and the boysetfire I don't want this to devolve into the same).

Also, I could care less about another "challenge" oriented community.
More of a peer and mentor/pro critique atmosphere.

Another thing about EyeFetch...they are still adolesent, feeling out their growing pains.

DPC at the very least has attracted serious artists, semi pros, and pros alike. EyeFetch has attracted cry babies.

The only other forum I spend much time reading is OurPPA.com. Its PPA's (Professional Photographers of America) own forums and a great place for community, info, ideas, and real business sense. Its a different dynamic than here, working shooters talking to their peers. Only catch is you need to be a PPA member to read many forum sections.

If you want to discuss anything Canon, then the Canon Digital Photography Forums on the "Photography on the Net" site is the granddaddy of them all.

//radiantvista.com is good, if quite quiet. //texasphotoforum.com is a great regional forum,
and //www.westcampphoto.com/the_camp/ is another one that is still quite new.

JPG Magazine is a great site. There's a lot of talented people over there.

They lean more towards the artistic side of things. Not much eye candy, if any and if you enter the Themes you have a chance at getting published in the magazine.

I started to respond to this, but for some reason, I hit the "Esc" key and all my typing disappeared.

For me:
photo.net - more technical and more professionals on it
dpreview.com - more technical but geeky

That's about it for me. There are forums at stock agencies also, but I don't go to them much.

dpreview.com is good for hardware-specific forums. I see a fair amount of cross-over between the two membership groups. Definitely a different context though.

Onexposure.net is a non challenged based site. And everything you submit has to be accepted before it gets put on. I know there are some of us over there. I think, Jdannels, Ursula and probably some others.

Is it ? They were posting on their blog 3 days ago. Sounds like business as usual ?
The original owners left in a huff a few months ago though and it is being run quite differently now.

I have a bunch of images up on JPG Mag that are being voted on. Seems like a good place for me, thus far.

As someone else suggested, try DPReview. As to community, their discussion forums are (hyper)active and contain much useful information. However, though some participants are kind, the general tone is less forgiving of newbie missteps than is DPChallenge.

I see you also own a Panasonic. There is a Panasonic challenge site (www.panachallenge.com) without much activity in their forum, but it's a friendly, laid back outlet. They average only about one challenge a month.

For Nikon users (and Fuji SLRs) it doesn't get any better than Nikonians. It is also where I first heard of the DPC.
