This throws our petty "Why did someone give me a 1?" posts into perspective.
This was sent to me in an e-mail, so I cannot confirm the story, but it looks real to me.
- Bamaster
This is Jacqueline Saburido on September 19, 1999.
This is she and her Father, 1998.
This is she on Vacation in Venezuela.
Birthday party as a child.
At a party with friends.
The car in which Jacqueline traveled. She was hit by another car that was driven by a 17-year old male student on his way home after a couple of hard packs with his friends. This was in December 1999.
After the accident Jacqueline has needed over 40 operations.
Jacqueline was caught in the burning car and her body was heavily burnt during around 45 seconds.
With her Father, 2000.
Getting treatment.
Three months after accident.
Without a left eyelid Jacquie needs eye drops to keep her vision.
Now 20 year old, he cannot forgive himself for driving drunk on that night three years ago. He's aware of devastating Jacqueline Saburidos life.
Not everyone who gets hit with a car dies. This picture was taken 4 years after the accident and the doctors are still working on Jacqueline, whose body was covered with 60% severe burnings.
Please send this to as many people as you can to make them aware of the consequences of drunk driving.

Simply shocking - and it certainly makes the point.
It makes my life seem like a happy-go-lucky dreamland. I'll try never to be miserable again. |

Sad to think what a few minutes of stupidity can do. He not only ruined his life but hers as well.

what i find amazing is that drugs like alchohol are legal while other much less harmless drugs are not.
Last year 16,653 Americans were killed in drunk driving crashes. 40% of the 41,821 people killed in all traffic crashes.
not to mention how many kids, wives and others who get abused by drunk people and how many lives are completly ruined by alchohol addiction. |

Im glad it was posted. Who cares if it makes someone sick, hopefully one of these days people will quit driving drunk.
I am a victim (one of the lucky ones) of a drunk driver. I only had minor injuries that set me back physically about 3 weeks.
The driver who hit me was going over 80 MPH and I was at a complete stop. If we would have me my car just 1 more inch towards the center of the car, I would not be here today.
The other driver did not know what happened because he was so drunk.

I don't care if someone gets sick. Maybe these pics will stop someone from driving under the influence and killing or maiming others. If one particular person had not gotten drunk and driven, my best friend would still be alive. His car was hit head on by a drunk driver who was travelling over 90mph on the wrong side of the road.

The title of the thread gives a very clear indication of content.
Sometimes we NEED to be shocked out of our complacency and think about the consequences of our actions.
THANKS for posting this Bamaster.

Even people not driving drunk, get into accidents.....
Its sad though in this story, it should raise awareness not to drink and drive but also speed kills!!!Had some friends die in crashes, and
having family members that survived some most horrific crashes and surviving 2 myself the second one was a hit and run and caused almost $10,000 in damage to vehicle, I walked away with a few bruses, will open your eyes wide and make you forget the road rage and drive with care!!
I pray for her that she wont give up and the story should be spread all over and reach the young and the old hitting them as if they were the victims looking like this girl............and something more
positive could come out of it that we all would become more safe when behind the wheel!
