Well my score is definitely popping all over the place. It started at 5.33 after 3 votes then 7.0 after 15 votes and before that last vote that was cast it was at 6.46 after 30 votes. Hopefully, there are still some kernels left to pop.

didn't enter this, but if the blue ribbon winner gets more than 6.5, I would be surprised. Richard (  yanko) should win with 6.3548

While I agree with you, I did enter the challenge and found it hard to come up with ideas.....How exciting can you make popcorn, which might reflect the low number of entries.
But for the participants I would give "A" for effort :) |

I have to agree with both sides. Not the best I have seen here, but at the same time, what can you really do with Popcorn to make it exciting??? There are about 3 in the bunch that I think will do excellent. |

Actually in small challenges like this you almost always have big scores from those that ribbon. Much easier to stand out and get those extra bumps in score. I can assure you a 6.35 (well a 6.24 now) will not win anything. I thought I had a good idea but it wasn't up to DPC's visual standards so it's not standing out.

I just voted this time, but I have a theory.
Some of these are just run of the mill, OK shots, others are really out there and may have no 5s at all - just 8 and above and 4 and below! A few of them I liked, and some I thought fell flat.
There's one in particular that I scored high (because I was strangely attracted), but really don't know why. And I'm guessing it won't do well overall.
I feel bad for the few who tried something different - and one or 2 others did something really close, but better. |
