Do we have any dates yet? Also I have November and other than Melbourne Cup day (which ran about an hour ago and is on the other side of the country) cant think of anything else for the month. So can I just do something appropriate instead?

November is Thanksgiving in the states if that helps.

Well I am going to have to order at least 10 and I did send JoJo a text today about this but she is ignoring me.

By the time I got your message, it was 9pm and I know you go to bed early because you are an old man ;) I will PM you in a min about your 10 hon :)

I am going to get everyone here at least 2, to show for examples... I am thinking we will do up to 3 batches of orders... the last ones to be processed will be taken up the week before Christmas :)

Deadline for photos will be November 20th (I know that is only 2 weeks from today, but we have got to get rolling) I will have the layout and design for the pages uploaded here within 72 hours, and I can have sample calendars overnighted out by the following week. That gives us 3 weeks to take orders, ordering 1 batch per week. All of the calendars that you get orders for will be sent to you, you will give them to the customers.

I will need everyone to PM me their info (address, name, biz name, website, etc...) before the 20th as well.

I am asking rossbilly to handle the monetary side of this because these proceeds will be added to what we already have :)

On a lighter note, I found my model last night :) hehe She is a surprise!!! bwahahhahhahahaaaaaa

ETA: DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR QUOTE!!!!!!

Of course you can!! As long as the pink theme is included in everything, I don't see a problem shooting a photo of a survivor with a horse, if that is what she loves :)

Of course I'll do the money stuff! Will make another paypal button; heck, I MIGHT even be able to produce some sort of 'auto-reply', email thingamajiggy. Hmmm, been wondering about the Google checkout thing too - I'll look into it soon... more info to come.

('ROSS'?????) girl, you ARE sleep depraved! LOL I'll call ya after work...

Maybe she should call you Bily Bob? I have been looking into adding a google checkout to my website. It looks fairly easy.

Cool, the model is confirmed. They are also wanting to know how they can get their hands on calendars to sell lol.

I don't want to clutter your thread, but I just wanted to say that this is a stupendous idea!! You guys are doing a great thing and I hope it really takes off and you make tons of sales. :)

Okay, volunteer lined up... only now I get to shoot a July shot in November! I wonder if there is an indoor pool nearby.......

Someone politely reminded me that we should all be sure to obtain model releases before shooting for this project. I know most of us already have them but, hey, BSTS! Anywho, here's the link:

Generic model release

oh my......

So, I was in the cafeteria a few minutes ago, when several women entered, including 'my' volunteer. She is discussing a coworker who had back surgery, talking about her grand-daughter, etc. Jackie is a new employee & I have NO idea how she might react to various 'themes' for this calender, so I'm standing there thinking 'fireworks & kids & skittles & rainbows'. I mentioned 'July' as the month to work with......

and she says "I'd love to do a bikini shoot, but I've got a little tummy-pooch"

Did I mention that Jackie is almost as tall as me, and quite slender? You could have knocked me over with a feather!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

ok, she DID say all that... but back to the serious stuff LOL

what if we include some type of comment / story space? I mean, would it be more meaningful to see the story to go with our images? For example, lots of people here do a terrific job of telling us about their image. Not just the setup, but the STORY behind it. I think it would do a LOT to make it even more interesting...

Your thoughts???

dude, you need to check out what has already been said round here LOL

You are supposed to get a quote from your model... either on the struggle, on life, or just something she lives by :)

Picklehead!!!!

Seems like it would be a nice tax right-off for any print house to do pro bono.

Ya know.....there's been much said recently about civility in the forums of late....

Shouldn't that be Mr. Picklehead?
11/07/2007 04:49:44 AM · #73
Cool, got two models so the editor-in-chief can make the final cut. Of course one wants to advertise the calendar on her show, so that may sway the choice lol.

ROFL - that IS the civil version - the inside joke is that 'picklehead' sounds much nicer than 'peckerhead' ;) But thanks for the reminder Jeb!

So, yesterday, I was in a near panic because I couldn't find anyone, and no one was responding to my emails (one sent to everyone at work, whether I know them or not, and the other my personal list).

Today, I've gotten no less than 5 potential volunteers. I think I may do a shoot with all of them, get several shots that fit this calendar, as well as general shots, make a poster and donate it to the cancer center here, or something.

Also, I'm March. I know the pink shamrock idea was mentioned, but I am assuming if I go with something else March-ish it will be okay? :) When I asked the ones in my office what they thought of when I said "march" all but one said wind and kites. The *one* said, "My birthday."

I'm thinking about a shot that shows one of the models with her two yound daughters flying a kite, or something like that.

And, just for the record, this is really stretching me out of my comfort zone, so thank you for letting me be included.
