Shit........August?

Oh well I noticed Leroy put out a bulletin for a Breast Cancer Survivor. I am going to copy his post and see if I get any response.

Well the main question I have is do we want to keep with the theme of pink and include a holiday? I may just hang with the pink theme on my month and not do a holiday.

Yeah, I'm with rex. Seems like if a holiday works it's a great idea, but to try to force it might not work so well.

... 'course maybe I'm just confused about how to work pink and Father's Day both in. ;) Just pink and I know exactly where I'm going.

Also, did we decide to go with the BW, selective desat theme? I kinda like that idea, though I normally detest selective desat. Now, where to find the proper model. James, if you get several hits, please send some my way.

I think it is a great idea... to desat everything but the pink in the photo... then the pink will pop, with purpose. BUT, I am afraid if it looks shoddy, there will be no going back LOL

How about this: Save one copy in full colour, and one after you do your selective desat, and I will decide from there.

Other than the pink theme, there is no requirement... shoot a holiday or don't :)

Well it is certainly fortunate timing, but an idea I've been considering that might be helpful for all months is to do a composite. A portrait on the right with the left being something relevant to the month's theme composited in so it appears to be one large photo. Big bonus to this is not having to carry around and worry about placing/lighting a bunch of props while making your model sit around bored.

Would certainly make for easy July shooting.

Everyone needs to remember to shoot in landscape orientation also unless your idea makes that point moot :)

Okay, I am going to leave it up to the individual photographer as far as a composite goes... you guys know what makes a good calendar LOL

I am putting my complete trust in you all :)

James, yes, I was thinking of putting the photog info just below the photo with a www and/or anything else you would like to include. Just keep it simple :)

Well I was planning on doing a selective desat anyway. But may try Sepia instead of black and white. Not sure I like the composite idea for mine. I have already worked something up in my head that me work out to be pretty damn good.
