My most sincere apologies. We will be doing another next year! Probably around June. Feel free to join us then :)

Ahh, gotcha. No worries, I'll look more carefully for next year's thread!

You can Fedex overnight the cd to me if you want, I can paypal you the funds if that is an issue. PM me if you'd like to do that. No shortage of bandwidth here. If you smash them down too small they are't going to be suitable for printing.

At 220dpi the resolution needs to be 2200 x 1760px.

I can get 'em out in the morning....where should I send them? The blog? You have an e-mail you wanna PM me or use my whiskeyspringstudios@earthlink.net and give me an addy, or a site to upload to???? I have five RAW files and a couple of desatted files.....you tell me what you'd like.

Jeb, find ANY place that has high-speed internet & take your files with you on a disc or flash drive. You could just email the files to yourself & then they are stored in your email provider's server - forward to whomever you need, even from home.

Then, just post back here & I'm sure someone will show up soon (that is MUCH better @ retouching than me LOL).

That looks great I think. I would go with the centered one. Didn't sound like there will be text overlayed on the image.

So I think like half of us half shots now?

Been helping NikonJeb this morning, should have the file transfers completed in a bit.

I'm also on dial up, but I "get" to go to work today, so I'm gonna burn it to a disk and send it that way. You should have it by 5. :)

Coming from you, I consider that a compliment - thank you. I'm pretty darned impressed with YOUR work & think it's definitely cover material! Glad to hear your helping Jeb...

Yeah, there are still a few people working on stuff, but I have no doubt that this will turn out GREAT!

(Karma - sorry to hear you 'get' to work today... I'll think positive thoughts for ya while I'm out riding the motorcycle - it's beautiful in the South today!)

Me too. Hell of a commute, stumbling from the bed down the hall to the office heheh.

I took mine and don't like it, but I think I screwed up one key point. We are taking the shots in landscape orientation? I took mine in portrait. Minor detail...

Heheh, yeah landscape.

NikonJeb got his files uploaded. You can grab the RAWs here

//204.3.153.154/nikonjeb.zip

His jpegs are 72dpi so the shot needs to be edited again and saved at the higher resolution. I'm assuming he will post here with further input, but I gathered he was pleased with the selective desat thumbs he posted earlier and would like to go with that shot and look.

First, routerguy666 has been an absolute savior. Patience and knowledge that even my own personal black cloud couldn't kill.

He *REALLY* knows computers!!!!

Second: *ANYONE* that wants to take a crack at the editing to get what we need for this calendar, PLEASE do so.

We're coming down to the wire, and fortunately, routerguy666 managed to pick up on the fact that I can't even get a printable file out of my computer due to settings and/or my connection.

So the editing that I have done is scrapped. What's on the site that he has posted is the RAW files......the only thoughts I have were of the style that is on the small files I had uploaded before.

My *ONLY* concern is that this calendar look as terrific as possible. I have no shame in stating on record that my computer and PS skills suck and that I would be eternally grateful for whatever help I can get.

I wish I was better at this.......8>(

I have to take my daughter's little dog to the vet, but I'll be back.

Looks like we have Paypal and are ready to take orders, which means it's a good time to send out those Press Releases.

To get more exposure, it would be a good idea if each of us send our photos to local media along with our press releases. Generally, they like photos to come along.

I am planning on shooting this out as soon as I get my photo done tonight.

Suggestions on size and what not for the photos or just send them the full size shots and let them do what they want?

Sending the full sized photo is fine. Although 2MP is more than enough for most newspapers and TV stations.

I've also managed to lose the login info for the blogspot. Could someone email it to me at bethhommel at gmail?

Well, I just uploaded a post to the blog and my "trial" image.

Any luck with the RAW files?

I feel like someone just cut the mooring rope and I'm adrift with no oars.

Just downloading them now.

Before I make a big mess of things - is there going to be any problem if I did NOT shoot in Raw?

Also - for the post processing illiterate here - what should be the dimensions of my picture? Should I just resize for what, 8"x10"? I already have the photo at 300 dpi.

Anything else I should know? My concern stems from how it will look on my computer vs. what makes it look good in print.

I can't open any of the raws. Anyone else able to open them?

Colorcarnival, at 300dpi your resolution would be 2400x3000 (that's (8 x 300) by (10 x 300))

I've got to get ready for a wedding reception shoot soon, but am d/ling it and will have a look.

PS and LR are both telling me the files are damaged.

Something is wrong with the raws. Your good luck at work again...

Your color jpeg original is at 240 dpi and larger than 8x0 so its usable. Just needs to be edited. Here's a crack at it. This is a really tough shot and I wish I had more time.
