www.j-goss.com/candy
i took the plunge and decided to try it out.
photo conditions were less than ideal, but i had to either make a sacrifice of people, or good photos.
i had a BLAST, and i'll probably do it once a month. it was so nice to meet all those people. I definitely recommend everyone to try this one out sometime.
you can read more about the project on the webpage link.

Way to go, James! I read through the whole thing and looked at the pics. I see you even got one of the late, great James Stewart (or some guy that looks just like him). :) The pics are decent for the conditions, but the important thing is you seem to have gotten what you wanted out of it.
I look forward to your future antics! :) |

Wow! Really creative idea, and a great project to practice working with people. A little portable studio with lighting and the right location would really give some awesome photos too!
Did everyone want to see their photos on the camera?

Cool project. Okay, maybe it was hot.
Did anyone ask for a print of themselves? |

Terrific idea AND sounds like fun! I work on a college campus (taking care of telephones), but can't enjoy photography of students due to conflict of interest - enjoy it while you can! I could quickly fill a book with all the silly stuff that happens every single day! (hmmmmm...)
Anyway, It was fun to read your writings, and good luck with future projects!! OH! Did you include your site address on the biz cards, and have you had many responses?

I gave mostly blowpops and tootsie pops. I had a selection of misc mints, cinnamons, and orange/lemon/grape candies too.

no. no prints. no feedback actually from the people i photographed. most people didn't even want to see the photographs of themselves after i gave them the web URL. only a couple people asked to see themselves on the digiscreen. I have my screen defaulted to not show (trying to break that bad habit of looking after every shot).. and so i told the few that did ask that the sun was just too bright to see the dimly lit screen.

Ha ha, I'm trying to get INTO this habit, because I'm sick of shooting 20 photos before I realise the camera is on ISO1600, EV-2, Tungsten WB and manual focus. :) Although I've found that these are the most reliable settings to ensure you are in the right place at the right time to get a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime shot. You just can't get the actual shot.
