I have found a great site that has heaps of free texture photos like  Goodman you can get them here
I used one for this yet another cat photo!

The fact that Buenos Aires is called the Paris of South America is evidenced even in the smallest details. I'm going to miss this place when I go back home to small-town BFE. :(

Day 6 Mums the Word
Got this plant as a get well gift way back earlier this year. Transplanted it outside in the new flower bed and it loves it.
I guess this made me feel happy, things move on and get better.

I know side challenges are not really technique/idea threads but hey these are the times we really get to play and I thought I'd share. Here's a fun one to try.
I use Corel PSP X2 and have not really figured out how to control gradients, and my burning of edges are always lame.
Here's how I do vignetting the easy (lazy) way with Xero Graphics Soft Vignette. Free PS Plug-ins - In Set 4 has Soft Vignette
I run the filter twice on the same (duplicated) layer, first pass using transparent effect and the second is the actual vignette (dark/light or effect). Running a transparency effect first insures that no gradient/color is in the center of the shot. Meaning no erasing to bring that area back through.
Duplicate the layer you want vignetted (usually the final pic)
Run Soft Vignette using Sharp/Invert/Transparency Effect... Adjust Width/Height for the area you want transparent. Strength adjusts how strong the dark/light or whatever effect you are using is.

Run Soft Vignette again on the same layer (Inverted Transparent Vignette)
This time uncheck Invert and use Foreground/Background color effect to go dark (dreary) or light (dreamy).
I move repeats to 1 for a bolder effect.

I will set the blend mode to Normal, Darken, Multiply or Burn depending on the effect I want. There are some useful effects in the Effect drop down...have fun with it.
ED: I used this effect with my Bridgette Shot, Multiply Blend mode.
