Thanks for the time.
If anyone is a swan expert can they please tell me why the swan is holding its plumage up like this? |

these pics have a lot of character. I especially like the swans. It seems to me you were shooting late in the afternoon, just before sunset. You might brighten up the yellows a bit to improve the look, unless you are really going for a late afternoon feel, I personally think shades of white that fall on the bluer side are nicer than those on the yellow side. |

I like the animal shots the most. You've captured something of the character there - not just portrait shots. I'd be careful about having a bar through the rodent's head, though. |

Excellent work! My personal favorites are the one of the fox and the first of swan shots. As such, I left comments for you to read. You're making me work harder to keep up with a fellow F717 owner! :)
I have something for you to look at now. Check out my portfolio as just I posted more "outtakes" from my point of view session at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (hall01.jpg through hall06.jpg):

Hopefully they are of the same caliber as your new shots! Enjoy! :)
Mo' stuff:
I forgot that I still have more from that shoot. I will post them later when I'm more awake.

LOL! I just noticed that! Good point and seems to be a common mistake we make. Maybe that's why I seem to do better at landscape or architecture shots. :) |

I am not an expert but I`ve been around swans often enough to recognise this aggressive display. It`s usually the males that do this and would indicate dominance or a warning to keep your distance.I expect it`s designed to make them appear bigger to rivals. |

Thanks for all the comments and advice and thanks for the info on the swan Gordon.
The meerkat shot was a one-off or not at all, so the background was unavoidable. I did get some shots without the mess but the little fellas refused to pose!
eaphelps - a blue hue looked a little cold and miserable as it was a gloomy day anyway, so I tried to warm these up a bit. I'll experiment with some hues and see which works better.
Here's the last one of my swans:

Greg, I like all those architectural shots (and left comments prior) - it's an intriguing subject. I particularly like the interior shot you used for Point of View challenge.
Thanks
