I left my camera at home today, was in a VERY PISSY mood and just wanted to run to town only do what was absolutely necessary and get back home. Well... There was the scene I'd almost given up on getting. There was I with NO CAMERA! I ran into the nearest WalMart and bought a cheapy digi and got the shot. I'm planning on returning the camera tomorrow, but it's kind nice. Might play with it for a while befor I make up my mind. Worst part? I haven't even finished paying for my OTHER NEW CAMERA. EEEEEEEEEEEEEK.

You have got to be kidding me? Is it appropriate to purchase a product, use it, and then return it? What about the retailer? What about the next guy who buys your used camera from this retailer?
Very strange practice and somewhat questionable in my mind. Please tell me that you are joking and that you are just pulling our collective legs.

I had some friends that would do this for their weekend camping trips at Target. Not honest, but they used good equipment. (C:

Unfortunately this particular retailer has encouraged this kind of behavior, in my case at least. They've sold me cameras and said, "Take it home and play with it. You've got 90 days to return it if you don't like it." They don't sell cameras that have been returned. The cameras are returned to the manufacturer and then you see them for sale as "refurbished" on eBay and the like.

| yup my retailer encourages that too, as long as you do not do any damage, make sure you are satisfied with your product! |

...or sometimes they sell it really cheap at clearance prices :) 128MB Memory Stick for less then $30.00. Thanks whoever returned it. |

Don't fool yourself if the packaging is ok and everything is in there with its orginal sleeves for the software and manual, and all the little plastic bags are there, they will repackage it and sell it again.
Most stores will charge a restocking fee for digital cameras and then also charge a fee if all the orginal packaging isn't all there.

We had a major retailer donate over 50 tents to our troop one time that had been returned after the Memorial Day weekend. Most were damaged or missing parts, but we salvaged a few and sold the rest at $5 per tent (as is) for a fundraiser. The sale was hilarious because we laid the tents out in a big field and then watched the people try to set them up to determine what was wrong with them. Some of them spent half a day trying to set one tent up and then would walk away in frustration. |
