I have the biggest wedding so far yet on Sunday. I have a list of all things needed to do.
Anyone care to throw some thoughts to me incase I have forgotten something?
Thanks a bunch

Hope the weather stays fine, and all the best, and look forward to seeing your shots.

What's on the list currently? Hard to know what to shop for when you can't see the pantry ;) |

FOOD? WATER? At a WEDDING? Should be plenty of that stuff around for ya...
If it's not on your list, make an item for "assistant/gofer" and find one.

Lisa,
Do you take a shot list?
I'm sure you've done so many of these that you've memorised the order - just thinking that by the end of 12 hours (ouch!) you may get a little lost in the longevity and a shot list may keep you on track?
Good luck.

bring a change of SHOES. You will be tired at the end of the day, and it's nice to be able to slip into a different type of shoe especially if you're going from narrow to wide.
bring safety pins. You know someone somewhere will pop, snap, break, or tear. You can become a lifesaver and a hero and everyone will love you.
bring extra batteries or a battery charger. 12 hours is a long time, you'll be shooting in the dark longer than your other weddings.
bring an assistant. Make assistant carry heavy stuff. Make assistant get the mundane so you can concentrate on the creative. Be nice to assistant at the end of the night and pay/give something extra. It's been a long day for them, too.
bring comfy camera straps. Don't carry everything you own on yourself, you'll get tired sooner.

I have a general list of important stuff and I have an itinerary too. Apart from the absolute normal stuff the rest are play by ear mostly. I go with however they are feeling on the day.
Letenele - The shoes I wear I can wear for days at a time if needed they are super comfy.
I have loads of batteries and I am taking the charger.
I will take safety pins thanks for that idea.
About 5 hours of it will be in the dark, the rest is daylight but yes I will be using the flash too. I am going to buy some more flash batteries tomorrow.

On the serious side:
I carry some things in my camera bag aside from camera stuff:
Super Glue, Rubber Bands & Safety Pins - never know what/when.
A few nylon Zip-ties - for the what ifs - even fix a broken camera strap if needed.
Spare glasses - better to have and not need, than need and not have.
Couple of Band-Aids & Ibuprofen - self-explanatory.
Note Pad, Pen & Business Cards - self-explanatory.

A tip I learned for the reception: I always bring my tripod with me, even though I usually don't use it for shots there. I use a large flash bracket and external battery, so it's not the easiest thing to set on a chair or whatever when I go to the loo or get soemthing to eat. I use the tripod's quick release plate under the bracket and just mount it on the tripod so it's ready to go in a pinch. I usually put it in a safe corner or by the dj and have my bag with backup gear hanging to weigh it down. |

we always carry baby wipes with us -- they will remove the stains of red roses off a wedding dress in no time without leaving a mark on the dress.
Band-aids - not only for your sake but the bride and bridesmaids are wearing brand new killer shoes.
I go through a pack of corsage pins in no time. Seems the florist is always one short or the pin gets lost.
