anyone have a good site i can find some sort of tax receipt contract I can print out?

the band I'm shooting tomorrow requested a receipt so they can send it in for taxes in the spring and I need to start doing that anyways.

thanks!

Just create an invoice in Excel or OpenOffice using an included template. That should be fine for their needs.

Not sure what 'tax receipt' you need?
Just a sales receipt so they can deduct the cost of your services on their books?
Here in PA every photo sale is subject to the 6% state sales tax, and the seller (the photographer) is responsible to collect it. No 'receipt' exists, just the on-line form one fills out quarerly when you pay the taxes you've collected from your customers.
If you're selling something wholesale then the buyer needs to give you a copy of their sales tax exemption form and then they are responsible for collecting the sales tax when they sell the items.

So if you are selling the packages to the band or kids (they are the end user so to speak) then YOU collect the sales tax. If they are reselling them to the kids/parents then THEY collect the sales tax. At least that's the way it works here in Pennsylvania.

I believe by "tax receipt" they mean a receipt they can use to support the business expense for tax purposes.

of course by you providing a receipt that they in turn will provide the IRS, you must claim the income earned on your taxes and pay income tax on it, and maybe collect sales tax as mentioned above.
