So far, out of four challenges, I've submitted pictures taken in three states (two in my home state of Pennsylvania, one in Maryland and one in Virginia). I've also taken shots that I didn't use in DC and New Jersey.
To what extents have you gone to take shots for DPChallenge?

I almost got arrested for taking shots from strange angles around the state capitol for the architecture challenge. I guess that's about the furthest I've gone for a picture :)
Other than that I almost got frostbite taking pictures in Canada when it was -40 and I wanted a good sunrise picture. My camera lens froze and wouldn't close for a while. Never did enter those shots here though, so I guess that doesn't count :)

I made my cat angry when I wouldn't let him play with the chess pieces in my "Queen's Gambit" photo...

I've fought off a mama chicken to take my No Ugly Duckling photo. I had a friend (I think she still is after what I did) swim in the pool over a month ago when it was FREEZING cold..needless to say I never used those photos as she was blue and her skin looked like that of a chicken leg:) I had a child stand on his hands in my pool for a LONG time which really was kinda fun and yes I have driven all over God's green earth. I've enjoyed every minute of it.

I risked all 12 of my mother''s brand new wine glasses, and her unending anger if I''d broken them...
I wasted ice cream by purposely tossing it down in the dirt for an upside-down submission I ended up f--ing up...
I got naked for the games challenge...
Plus I got a lot of weird looks taking photos in weird locations.

Wow, you guys are dedicated. I have yet to move outside of my home. I usually think about the shot for a while, then buy some props, set up the shot, don't like it and do something totally different. :o But then, I also don't post for every challenge. Just the ones that I have a photo for that I'm reasonably happy with.

Being naked in wierd locations usually draws some strange looks... :)

Haha. I saw a naked woman the other day in the location where I took one of my photos (NOT my apartment). Does that count? :-)

this is great. it seems like we''re breaking the nudity barrier here. i think the next step would be an "all-nude challenge."
or maybe a nude photographer challenge - the point would be the reactions of the subject - in my case you''d probably see a lot of fear or uncontrolled vomiting. (no self-portraits for this one now).
or maybe i should just be quiet now ; )

I have not gone as far as most of you..... so far photos from Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. I have also pulled my darling daughter with me into some strange situations. I think the best I can say is that this site has me making sure that I have camera and fresh batteries with me not matter where I go....just in case. |

I, too, have dragged my camera all over the country because of this site. I've been to New York, Atlanta, Dallas, & Philadelphia, looking for pictures, but every one I've submitted has been taken right here in California. Of course, I was in Chicago, and saw the perfect shot. That was the week I left the camera home.
Of course, I am taking more pictures every week than I would previously take in 5 years prior to going digital. |

I haven't travelled any great distances just to take photos, but I do seem to carry my camera around all the time now.
e.g. Today I went to sit out in the sun and read some documents...ended up taking pictures for the black and white challenge. I had to come back inside so I could read!

My neighbors have this stuffed chicken, like from a taxidermist. They leave it on the porch. Unguarded. Hmmm. I want that chicken. |
