Im about to order a cam. Has anyone ordered a "B" stock camera from them and does it come with all the packaged materials. Did it end up being in good shape, clean and no problems. Are they pretty trust worthy with those items?
Thanks |

I personally made a decision when i bought my new Olympus 5mp camera now gone and i hate it lol. But it served me well through 2 years of abuse. I passed up buying an out of box 7 megapixel Sony that didnt come with a charger for the same price.
I made the decision that unless I need it i wont buy refurbished or floor models to save money. Just my personal feeling. But alot of people have good luck with lightly used, refurbished and rejected items. |

If a B Stock means refurbished. I bought a refurbished D200 a few weeks back from B&H and it came with all the guarantees an supplies that the others come with. It's fine and has probably been inspected more times than ones right off the line.
IMO, a very safe way to buy.

I haven't purchased refurb from B&H but I highly recommend purchasing refurbs from Cameta Camera on Long Island. They have a Ebay store and a brick and mortar store that I went to to pick up the items I've won off of Ebay. I've gotten to know the salesmen there pretty well and they are friendly and supply excellent service. In addition, people on DPReview rave about the refurbs they've gotten from them. My Oly E-300 came with less than 50 shutter actuations and in pristine condition with all of the accessories normally sold with a new item. You couldn't tell a refurb from a new. I've also purchased 3 or 4 lenses from them also in pristine condition but sometimes you may not get the lens hood that it normally comes with.
Usually, you don't get a full manufacturer's warranty, but maybe 90 days manufacturer's and then another 9 months added on from the store. If you're unsure about B&H, check out Cameta Camera on Ebay and see the great prices their items are selling for. |

My brother buys a lot of his equipment from Cameta.
I also won't buy open box (I haven't ever bought refurbished). I had a really bad experience with buying a Sony laptop on open box. Though, the bad experience was with Sony, not the store. The store made it right and replaced the laptop. It just wasn't worth the headache that I had to go through.
Just out of curiosity, does B&H have an actual "bricks and mortar" store? I keep picturing it like Toys R Us but with camera equipment. |

Amazon.com dealt a serious blow to my willingness to buy refurb items from anywhere a couple of years ago. We bought a refurbished KitchenAid mixer from them and it arrived with old cookie dough still on the beaters. Ewwww! I'd trust B&H over Amazon, though.

B&H is very trustworthy. Just make sure you get yourself a warranty and you're set.
