Hi all,
New around these parts.
I'm considering paying a yearly fee for the updated features, however, I am wondering on the payment aspect of the agreement. Can someone who actually sells prints off this site tell me how they like the situation, if you think the percetages of who makes what are fair, etc.
Thanks, Mary

Hey Mary!

Welcome abroad. I recently became a paying member but have been registered at DPC for a few months. Dunno many who don't get addicted & don't love this site. It rocks the house!

IMO, I think the print sales %'s are fair. I mean you dont really have to do much really. Considering all that, it's way fair.

Plus as a member you can enter the members only challenges which are pretty cool. All that considered, $25 for the year is pretty cheap, if you can afford, & well worth it to boot!

you also get the option of purchasing your own prints in large sizes for very low prices.

i had a 16x24 shipped to me for less than an 8x10 cost my mom at the local print shop, and she had to drop off the negatives, and then pick up the enlargement.

i bought mine from work during lunch...

If for nothing else, the ability to purchase your own prints in large sizes for low prices is more than worth the $25. I've probably saved more than that ordering my prints through DPC. I used to think my photo printer did a good job printing photos, but when I compared it with the prints I've ordered - no way.

Besides that, I've really enjoyed being a member of this site, I enjoy the additional challenges, having a portfolio and most of all - supporting what everyone involved in this community has built.

Hey, thanks for the replies. I find that I am quickly becoming addicted as well, and frankly, my family is getting a bit tired of all my "pic emails."

Even my patient husband is like - Yeah, so, it's a tree and a mountain....

Thanks again- soon to be a member- Mary

How much are the large size prints of your own pictures for members? I am a bit afraid to join and be able to do updates all the time instead of by the minute. And I don't know if I could stand the challenge of two pictures a week! Seriously, how much are the prints of your own work in the large sizes? This might be what persuades me to join.

Not a complete list of prices, but a sampling:

20x30 = $14.10
16x20 = $11.10
11x14 = $3.40
8x10 = $2.35
5x7 = $0.78
4x6 = $0.36

Even though I can get 4x6 locally for $0.19 each and 8x10 for $1.50 each I still use the DPC - quality is excellent!
