... if we want a monthly free study challenge for members, like december.
I really want a free study almost one time at month.

I'd be open for that. We all have great shots that we want to share. I found it quite refreshing to vote on the Free Study, since I didn't have to look for a link to the current challenge.
At least quarterly.

I like Jacko's quarterly suggestion! Every month would be a bit too often if you ask me, but every third month or so would be great.

I too love the idea of a monthly free study. It would give us the chance to submit that "one great photo" each month without worrying about meeting a challenge topic. It migh also have a side effect of reducing the number of "shoehorned-in" submissions in the topical challenges... or not.

That is a very valid point indeed! It would be great if those were reduced, rather than someone somehow convince themselves that a photo of a cat is valid for an insects challenge (or similar).
Also, remember it is not compulsory to enter, so just because there was a monthy free challenge does not mean someone HAD to enter it. If someone prefers the idea of one very quarter just enter once :)

I like it, too. If monthly is too much, and quarterly is too little, how about every other month?

| every month sounds good to me. this challenge really appealed to me because my best photography comes from pure creativity - i can't get a good shot to save my arse if I'm trying to get one ;) |

It would really be nice to have a free study in the spring when we go on weekend out of state trips I don't think monthly is too often
We don't have to enter every month

| In case anyone is counting....I'm for monthly if the rules go back to no extra editing on challenges and any editing on the monthly. It doesn't look like that is gonna happen though so if the rules change I would like to see bi-monthly or quarterly so that we don't get voter fatique! |
