Hi all,

This is my 1st attempt at Automotive photography. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I used selective masking and photomerge in photoshop to get some of the effects. A couple were straight out of the camera. I am hoping to get some insight or comments from you guys.

The paint of the car looks different due to the custom CANDY TEAL paint job. It changes with different light temperatures. Realy cool looking effect.

Thanks in advanced,

I'm not sure if my opinion is valued, and I'm not entirely sure what to say. Either you're a better photographer than me or good equipment actually makes a big difference. Anyway, most of them--particularly 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8--are worthy of commercial advertisements.

Sorry, not much technical advice I can give you. You've got that part down better than myself.

Your lighting is off. Way to dark. Marketing reps want to see their products clearly and dynamically, trust me - been doing stuff in advertising for the past 7 years. You have way to many dark areas on the product. Dark areas showing off curves and lines like the way Lexus does is slick and sophisticated. In your shots the whole area - the colour is dull and dark.

I like your set ups, angles and location. The all work well together. All your missing is proper lighting, and you might get a sub-contract deal from BBDO.

Thanks for the comments!

What is BBDO? I am not familiar with that.

I agree I didnt have any lighting that day. I realy dont know what set up to go with when you shoot in location like this. ( Strobe? or Flood? )

It was shot in a public garage and we didnt know when or people would drive up to park. We didnt have the privacy to set up large lighting equiptment. It was shot with the available light.

Any other comments or suggestions on the type of lighting would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Ludwig Ortiz
