I am a newbie who uploaded my first submission a couple of days ago. I have been playing with the size of the picture and different ways of saving it as the subject gets very blurry along the edges once it's uploaded even though my original looks crisp.
I read some of the older threads about how the size and different ways of saving can alter the picture but it still looks the same when I upload it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :) |

Welcome!
What are you using to resize your shot?

Okay, are you resizing in the help option thru the wizard or are you resizing thru the image size in Image? The latter is a bit more tricky & leads to a lot of pixelation if not done right. I leanrt this the hard way.
So what exactly are you doing and can you be more specific as to what the differnces are betweeb pre & post upload.

I have been resizing through image size; the last thing I tried was to resize it to 500 pixels and saved for web, then changed the quality to 97 % since it kept exceeding the max. allowed 150K (I didn't want to make it too small wither...). Since I'm totally clueless with all this I just kept playing with the size but always through ïmage size"... |

This might be the problem. Okay, try going to help> resize wizard instead. with your original image.
select online, then change to 500 pixels, then finish off. If you are trying to upload for DPC, go to file> save as. In the file type, change it to JPEG & name your file.
Then this additional window will come up asking you what quality to save as. If this is for a challenge it cant be more than 150K, so choose anything from 7-9 and you should be good to go.
Let me know if this works.

I'm glad it's working out. If you are trying to make an image larger than it is than you are bound to get some blurriness.
