Hi.
I'm trying to figure out how to post an image here. If it doesn't show up, check below.

Anyway, I was looking for creative suggestions for how to edit the colors and contrast, etc. to improve the mood of this shot. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Well the colours for me do nothing, so i'd be tempted to try an acidic filter on it or most likely... Black and White goodness!!!
:D

Yeah, I would say the shot is not about the color at all, I would agree about trying b/w, or even a tri/quad tone.

Try this:

An adjustment layer of "levels", set RGB to 0, 1.00, 45.
Set that layer to overlay.

A "selective color" layer - choose yellows and push the yellow slider all the way to the right, then do the same with the red.
Keep as normal blending mode.

Another normal blending mode selective color layer - choose blacks, and push the cyan and yellow all the way to the right.

Normal blending mode, curves adjustment layer.
155, 72
208, 153
or thereabouts as two points to the curve.
Adjust opacity to about 61%

Then title it "Iron and Gold" :-)

Something like this maybe

Added a channel mixer layer - monotone, high blues and greens, low reds, faded in at about 50%, changed hues slightly, increase contrast, dodge and burn lightly. I can send you the psd if you are interested.

Very cool folks. I'll try these out when I get home.
Thanks!
