Perhaps a silly question. What is the ratio for a panorama shot? AND...is it possible to shoot in raw, the crop the picture in a manner to get that same ratio and then label it as 'panorama'...or is there an element missing from that? |

There is really no set ratio for panorama shots. Something like 12 x 6 or 10 x 4 would be considered panorama.
If you crop a picture to this type of ratio then you could label it as a panorama even though it wasn't like that in the original. |

I did this view of the Dallas skyline by cropping it out of a much larger photo. I don't remember setting any particular proportion, just selected till it looked right.

usually a 2:1 ratio is minimum to really call it panoramic.
Cropping is okay, but limits your print size. better to shoot several shots at the same EV lock and photomerge them. |
