Whoo-hoo!!!!
Oh, and when that happens I want the prices of books here to be the same as the US prices.....does that tick anyone else off? Books that have 2 prices on the inside jacket, a much higher price for us in Canada.

No, the currency is called the dollar. Slang for the $1 coin is the loonie, slang for the $2 coin is the twoonie.

Twoonie: pronounced "toonie", just in case you tried to pronounce the "w"

o, yeah, and the loonie is so called because it has a loon (waterbird found all over north amaerica, but especially in canada, with a haunting call, and an eerie cackle) on its back.

We have loons on the lake in Vermont where my wife's family has a cottage. Everyone gets very excited to see them every summer. Time to buy a 600mm zoom. :)

...plus... Canadians could speak like Pirates when we buy or sell stuff with dubloons. With toonies Canadians are like a bunch of nancy-boys, prancing around in tights and flinging flower petals here and there. Not that I have anything against nancy-boys, and damnit, I like the feel of tights, but come on...

The best thing is that some of our tights come with capes! Let's all remember that Superman is a Canadian.

Really? The actor, right? Which one then? Surely the character isn't Canadian...wouldn't he be...kryptonian or something like that? |

No, No... It's 'Don't get your knickers in a Twist'... I think 'Knickers in a Knot' is Australian.

The kid who played young superman in the first movie (who lifted the car) is from Calgary. I haven't seen him in years, but somewhere I still have a little metal trash can with him on it. |

You are right Superman was created by a Canadian. The Canadian gov used to air Canadian history commercials and that was one of them.
