I have decided to purchase the Fuji S5000 online. I was wondering which online store is the best, safest, and fastest to deal with? I see many advertising cheap prices but the reviews by customers are usually very poor. So far B+H seems top notch and they have free shipping to boot.
Thanks for any information.

I concur. I've ordered hundreds of dollars worth of stuff from B&H (my camera bag, memory sticks, tripod, filters, and just recently the f717 remote) and I have never been disappointed with the service. The shipments have always arrived on time and as described. |

In addition to B&H, I have had good transactions with 17th Street Photo, J&R, and Adorama.
With these stores, there are no extra phone calls holding your purchase hostage until you buy accessories. Their delivery options are what you would expect.
Also, I have on occasion purchased accessories, or even a camera from Amazon - check their pricing against the stores above.

Know of any Canadian online stores? I've been trying to compare prices in CND funds for the same camera and the only supplier I can find is Futureshop.

I've used Adorama with great success! They ship very timely and answered all of my questions. I've also purchased items off e-bay with good success too...in fact even with ebay I've never had a bad purchasing experience. |

Henry's has it for $1499, which is $200 cheaper than futureshop, and Henry's will ship free before Dec.17th. Now I just have to rake together the cash..lol anyone want to loan me $1500?
Should I fork over the cash for the Digi Rebel or be a bit more conservative with a G3?

My vote is on BHPhoto too. I haven't dealt with any other stores, so I can't really compare, however the prices are super competitive and customer service is great. Highly recommended

I bought my Canon eos 10D from BHphotovideo, very pleased, good service. But these days I'm not so happy, for three months they have been out of canon 50mm F1.8, problably the the most popular canon lens (only 65 dollars). It costs 180 $ here in Iceland, but I'm just going to wait until BH get it, I wount buy it from any other Online store.
They just told me that canon has not manufactured these lenses for a time, Adorama are also out of stock :(

Add me to the list of happy B&H customers. UPS demolished one of my packages and returned it and B&H overnighted another so that I'd have it in time for a photoshoot. Good prices and great service.

Count me as another happy eBay customer! PCLINE and FLASHPOINTCAMERAS are two that I've recently done business with. Key is to find someone with high number of sales and excellent feedback rating.
Also, Oskar - you might want to check eBay for your lens - a cursory check there shows a number of them at excellent prices. |

You can also try Vistek. Their prices are the same and they actually know what they're doing, unlike the staff at Henry's. Vistek has a location in Calgary (if you want to try and save shipping costs). Vistek also has financing options (if you go in for that sort of thing), but your adjusted price tag is $2000.
You can also look at Downtown Camera (same price and they throw in a 128M Sandisk ultra) or Aden Camera (same price again but battery grip + battery thrown in!).
Still, you might consider looking at U.S. shops especially if they are partnered with Canada Post Borderfree. These shops can give you prices in CAD and you won't have to worry about duties/tariffs. My experience with lenses is that you don't have to worry about extra border costs anyway; I'm not sure about digicams. Canadian shops are really giving their customers the screw job when it comes to consumer electronics. |

I can get it from Vistek locally for $1299 no tax. Plus if I take that ad to Futureshop they'll beat the price by 10%.

My local camera store recently matched B&H prices on several items. I recomend buying local if you can. I have bought from and like B&H too. |
