A friend of mine has aked me to take her headshots. I have never done this before, but she has seen pretty much most of my work. She said that she has faith in my ability to do it, but I was wanting to know if anyone had any advice? She has an audition on Saturday and she was needing them before then. I told her to come over on Thursday and Friday and we will take a bit and choose the best ones. Please if anyone has any advice, I need it!!!!!!! Thanks!

I did something similar for my brother. Check out some moelling website to see what kind of looks & posed folks use. A head shot doesn't necessarily mean just the ehad, as I discovered. Tri different looks and hairstyles to you have a lot to shoose from for the end product. Good luck to you & your friend.

Go to this index page and you'll see a decent tutorial on headshots. Although the site is basically a commercial for Olympus, the information is clearly laid out and accurate.

Put it in your portfolio and then insert a hyperlink here.

Photos for some interviews e.t.c. should be with a black or white background, to make it more simple. It's not question of art, just a question of the person looking nice.

Easiest way is to put a hyperlink:(Layman's Version)

Right click with the mouse on the picture.
You will be given a separate screen.(Properties)
Find the address of the picture.
Copy that address.
Come back to this thread.
Click on the and paste your the image address to the thread.

Here's the DPChallenge Tutorial.

If you decide to post a picture, post a thumbnail that will link to your picture. It's often considered rude to post a huge picture because not everyone has a highspeed connection to the internet.

Just wanted to make it clear that this only works if you have the photo online somewhere, and you are in your browser when you right click on it.

Yes. It must be online somewhere.

The easiest way is actually joining as a member and using the button. They have made it so easy.

Post your picture in your portfolio and link directly from a thumbnail.

Thanks!!! This is one of the better shots that I got. Steph hates the camera....I don't know why! After she saw these she was very pleased. She said for once she was happy with a picture of her. Thanks for your comments!!!!
