Both movies indeed are great! Though not exactly family movies ;o)
I would add "Memento" to the Must-see-list. Simply excellent!! |

Yup - both great films. That scene in American History X (you must know the one I mean) will stay graphically clear in my mind for ever I think. I'm quite intrigued how much difference the 'X' makes to the title too - it gives it a totally different edge than without it.
BTW David - that's the oldest marketing ploy in the book - but I bet most people will at least view this thread!

Requiem for a Dream is an incredible film, and possibly one of the most harrowing and hard hitting films I've ever seen. The spiraling descent from the opening optimism to the tour-de-force ending in which each character is shown in their own hell is remarkable. It's amazing that Arronofsky could follow up such a great film as Pi with an even better and very different film.
Thoroughly recommended, but this is not a feel good film! |
