IT'S A HATE CHALLENGE!!

It's a powerfull emotion that, as I see the entries, only a few have managed to capture.

Cudn't agree more. Hate is too strong an emotion and children are probably incapable to do so, they may be dipleased, disappointed, dejected or angry but hate is an adult emotion. But then a word have as many interpretations as its users so its more open to how the voters see. I think if you can feel the 'hate' without looking at the title, the POV is proved conclusively

I'm done voting and I stopped commenting at 20% or so.
I could've taken a shot of anything in my kitchen, livingroom, bedroom, street, work etc.etc. and just added a title
"I hate this!"

And love isn't? Why is one possible, but not the other? If someone murdered a kid's parents, would he only be displeased? Try to feed brussels sprouts to a 3 year old and you'll get a short lesson in hatred! ;-)

Yes, you COULD have, but it might not be an effective strategy.

Point taken but then the kid either gingerly eats the brussels sprouts or throws a tantrum but he still hugs and kisses the mother after a few minutes and keep loving her. Alas! we all know how differently we adults behave when we hate. Regarding the gruesome acts of violence like a murder or molestation hate is obviously present but i can hardly see any entry which takes this to such extremes

Yeah, but he still hates brussels sprouts! If you took away candy from a child every time you saw him, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be getting hugs and kisses anytime soon.

Your earlier contention was that kids aren't capable of that emotion.

Thats what i meant. You may see it as hate while i may see it as displeasure or anger. It's open to interpretations and personal perspective. Generally children are the ones who say 'i hate you' much more often without knowing the full potential of the word

You missed the context here, i was sticking the issue around the challenge and not as my opinion or may value system

The same is true of love, no? Just because children don't fully understand an emotion doesn't mean they can't feel it.

Yes you are right, maybe i got too carried away by thinking children as very innocent, simple and incapable of a simple emotion like hate. Sorry for this unnecessarily long and uncalled for drag, the world goes on nonetheless

::peaks underneath post-its to look at score....YIKES!!::

::Thinks its time to take up knitting....Knit one, pearl two....vaguely wonders about changing Nickname from Hihosilver to HihoBROWN::

Well, I guess I should have fed brussel sprouts to my 4 year old and my 6 year old...I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be getting hugs or kisses, but at least I'd be getting a decent score! It's all about the sacrifices...;-)

Well, since I'll have a whole week of knitting to do while wallowing in the depressing state of my score, I'll knit you a sweater to go with your cute hat...and remind myself that a child's love (or hate) for a parent is in direct proportion to their personal motto:

"LESS veggies...MORE SpongeBob!"

Most about the lighting...funny thing is I made my shot dark for an emphisis,I knew I would catch flac for it but geesh its are people and there was alot of thought behind every aspect of ths shot, every detail created a specific way to add to the meaning of it....oh well

I don't really hate my score, but so far but i'm very disapointed. Especially taking relativity into consideration. I feel this challenge had alot of poor shots and alot of shots that were decent but were forced categorically. I went back and made sure to bump up my top choices to ensure they place appropriatly. I hope everyone does the same.
