Oh man, the low tonight is going to be 0 (that's Farenheit, BTW), with the wind chill factor in the negative teens. And it is supposed to stay that way until it finally warms up(!) to the twenties on Thursday. I need a vacation! Just thought I'd share...

My only advise to you is... don't visit places where it DOES get cold. We are approximately at the same level now and it almost seems balmy.

We've had a warm winter - 3 or 4 degrees C warmer than usual. According to the traditional Japanese calendar, Spring started yesterday and it was so windy they had to stop the Bullet train service up north.
I still hope we get some snow so it will have been worthwhile getting snow tyres last November...

Wow, I see I'm not the only one! No big surprise, but schools are closed today. Of course I'm here at work, but the wife and kids are stuck in the house today. I fear what my gas bill is going to be next month...

Yesterday was the first day, in about 45 days, that we got above freezing. Its 21F right now. Its been -11F to 21F, not counting the windchill. Today it's going to be in the high 30's. I hope the big freeze is gone. (fingers crossed)
The snow is melting and causeing a lot of problems for the farmers. With the cold nites freezing.
I live in the Uintah Mts, Utah

-4F here in Michigan. Schools are closed.

hahahaha. i just read on the paper's website that the reason schools are closed here is because "a number" of bus drivers called in after the super bowl last night.

lol.

Here in the Northern UP of MI it is -2F winds 15mph from the North wind chill -22F. The warmest it has been in days. Just checked International Falls MN air temp -26F and wind chill of -42F, now thats COLD. Good luck to all up that way.

we had a low of minus 20 overnight with windchill minus 35. Still haven't gone above Zero today and doubt we will anymore now. a few more days of this then we are supposed to get a 21 Degree Heat Wave. Could break a sweat that day after getting used to this cold stuff.

Like the time I was living in Millisle, N.I. and the toilet was outside and it was freezing to run there in the middle of the night and what was worse, was that it had no electricity and here you were fumbling around with matches to get it lit up so you could see where to sit down, while hopping on one leg furiously so you wouldn't errrm, have an accident! In the end we got a bucket!! Brrr.
