less rules = better in my book

The fact that it's open to all art is interesting too.

Sounded like fun but most legit sites at least allow a preview before joining. I think it might be good to do a short wait and see how and who these guys are.

I am waiting to see what this site is all about as well. How can you give away money as a prize from a site that doesn't charge anything to participate in? Very curious.

Yep, in a matter of a few days they will have attracted a community -- stolen, ready made, from several established sites who spent years building them.

Searching for 'votobooth' doesn't bring up any other discussions such as this one (doesn't bring up this one yet either) -- so, either this community is the only one they are siphoning off or the other communities are being siphoned as we speak.

Here's the email I got back from my inquiry about TOS:

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for your email! I greatly appreciate your comments about our website. We just opened 3 weeks ago and have been feverishly fixing little bugs here and there. This is the first email I've received from someone who I dont know, so it was very enjoyable. :)

To address your concern, this site was made by artists for artists, so we know all the concerns that artists have when submitting to a website. We are working on our TOS (another reason it is still invite only), but basically any art you submit to the site for a challenge or gallery you will stricty own and retain all the rights to. All that we ask is your permission to use your art on our site. We will be working closely with artists to make sure our TOS will be friendly, fair and transparent, and I would love to extend an invite to you to read over it once it is added and give me your feedback.

I would also greatly enjoy any feedback you have on the site. Things you'd like to see added, any confusion you had, etc.. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear about Votobooth?
